A broad-based curriculum is followed based on the
National Curriculum, the Primary Framework and the renewed Framework
for secondary mathematics. The curriculum is extended in order to
provide the enrichment and challenge that will prepare pupils for
Common Entrance and Senior School Scholarships at a pace and level
appropriate to their needs.
We create an exciting environment in
which children's mathematical interest and skills can flourish and
where children who can tackle mathematical problems with confidence and
flair.
ANNUAL EVENTS
Primary Maths Challenge
The Mathematical Association organises Maths Challenges for pupils in
Forms 5 and 6 during November each year. The challenges consist of
lively, intriguing papers designed to stimulate interest in maths. They
are tests of reasoning and mental agility which can be taken without
any special preparation or revision. Pupils who have taken part in the
challenge in previous years have thoroughly enjoyed solving the
problems.

The UK Maths Challenge
This challenge is organised by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust.
The papers contain 25 multiple-choice questions. Of these, the first 15
are straightforward but the final 10 provide food for thought. Gold,
silver and bronze certificates are awarded to 40% of participants
nationally and the most successful participants at each level are
invited to enter follow-on rounds.
Pupils in Forms 7 and 8 will be invited to take part in the challenge each year.
