Drama gives you a tool to explore and interpret the world and communicate emotion and beliefs

Year 6: Interpretation and Responding

Form 4: Story Board

What will I learn in my Drama lessons?
Drama lessons are taught in ‘units’. They tend to last for about half a term. Each unit focuses on creating, responding and performing. After the warm up of each lesson, you will learn what the learning objective is. This is important because it helps you to know what skills to focus on and evaluate at the end of the unit- you wouldn’t get in a car and not know where you were driving to would you? Well, learning is the same!
So here are the main sections:

* Warm up / Introduction / Recap
* Main Section (Clear Objective)
* Warm down / Plenary / Assessment / Evaluation / Reflection

Drama is for EVERYONE!
Drama is INCLUSIVE!

Every year there are lots of opportunities to perform and speaking parts are given to EVERY child that auditions!!!!

Theatre Week

At the end of each Summer Term, Forms 3-8 have a ‘Theatre Week’. It’s really exciting and each child chooses a ‘workshop’. Last year we put on a Pantomime- but everything had gone wrong! Even our Head of Drama had been kidnapped by the evil Ice Witch! After four days, all the workshops got together and put the show together- a little bit like a jigsaw puzzle.
